One common female trait is to have full plump lips and a short upper lip. In contrast to men, women generally have a more full-bodied vermillion—the red, fleshy band of the lips, and a fuller vermillion border—the fine-lined edge between the edge of the lips and the skin.

The lip lift procedure has became very popular in the past years. With a small incision hidden under the nose this short procedure can also be done under local anesthesia. It is very powerful in enhancing  the prominence of the vermilion border; and improve the facial area  into a more aesthetically pleasing shape.

 Alternatively, fat from the thighs or abdomen could be harvested and injected into the lips.
